Quick1X

Moving 802.1X Security into the Mainstream

Quick1X provides a simple way to configure your endpoints so that they can connect to 802.1X enabled wireless and wired networks. Minimal interaction for end-users reduces helpdesk calls and increases the adherence of more secure policies.

  • Management from the Cloud - Authorized IT staff uses Avenda hosted website to configure, download, and store 802.1X configuration install packages
  • Compliance and Adherence - In addition to easily changing 802.1X variables or pushing out new pre-shared keys, Quick1X ensures that endpoints meet key Windows and security compliance requirements
  • Point-n-Click Configuration - Users are removed from manually configuring their devices. The IT administrator simply points them to the Quick1X portal to begin the upgrade

Painless endpoint configuration

Configuring end-user devices for network access can be confusing, and historically means that most users will call or visit the IT helpdesk. The Quick1X wizard automatically configures each device for secure wireless or wired access in one minute or less. Incremental or required security updates or fixes can also be made on the fly without the need for direct helpdesk interaction.

Security without the hassle

Quick1X offers the unique ability to configure settings for most Windows, Linux and Mac OS X devices. Wireless and wired network attributes, 802.1X supplicant information, and NAP or NAC health settings are pushed on the fly to the endpoint on their initial connection to a .1X network. If needed, Quick1X can also push a new supplicant (or agent) to the endpoint and install it. The end-user is guided through the download and authentication process, ensuring painless network connectivity.

How it Works

Quick1X consists of two components, a hosted backend provisioning interface and automatic configuration wizard for the user. The provisioning interface is used by the network administrator to configure all of the required endpoint variables to create a Quick1X deployment package which is then installed and delivered from an IT owned web server.

The end-user starts the configuration wizard from your Quick1X captive web portal and is guided through the entire install. A configuration log is provided at the completion of the install.
