1. QA Engineers

Avenda Systems, an innovative network security startup company based in Bangalore, India and Santa Clara, California is looking for experienced software QA/test engineers.  Using your know-how and expertise, you will work with an outstanding team of engineers to ensure our network security product releases are just what our customers need.  The job involves writing test cases for various enterprise security policies, developing automation scripts for RADIUS and different EAP protocols, doing server performance benchmarking and testing, performing regression tests, and testing new features for every software release of the product.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities
- Design, document, implement, and execute test cases and scenarios for various network security policies
- Do system level as well as functional testing of the different components
- Do performance and scalability testing
- Write automated test scripts and maintain automated test systems

The successful candidate will have:
- From 3-5 years of experience in software testing, writing test cases, performing tests, usage of bug tracking systems
- Broad knowledge of Linux/Unix
- Familiarity with scripting required for test automation (perl, javascript, shell script, expect and others)
- Familiarity with testing and using network management systems
- Familiarity with setting up routers, switches, wireless access point & firewalls
- Protocol level familiarity with RADIUS and different EAP methods
- Outstanding communication and teamwork skills

2. Software Engineers

Avenda Systems, an innovative network security startup company based in Bangalore, India and Santa Clara, California is looking for experienced software engineers, specifically in the area of Web-based application and UI development. Using your know-how and expertise, you will share design and development responsibilities with an outstanding team of engineers. You will be involved in technology investigation, product design and implementation.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities
- Write functional and design specifications for the administrative backend modules and UI components
- Design, develop and unit test different UI and backend components

The successful candidate will have:
- From 2-4 years of experience in software design and web application development
- Knowledge of UI development in Java/Tomcat/Struts environment
- Broad knowledge of Linux/Unix
- Understanding of object-oriented design concepts
- Excellent knowledge of Java, C, C++ and Python languages
- Outstanding communication and teamwork skills

The following experience and skills are highly desirable:
- Working knowledge of database design and development; specifically, good understanding of SQL and ODBC/JDBC database technologies
- Working knowledge of the following technologies: LDAP, Active Directory, HTTP, XML, SOAP
- Familiarity with Web2.0/AJAX technologies

Using your know-how and expertise, you will share design and development responsibilities with an outstanding team of engineers. You will be involved in technology investigation, product design and implementation.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities
- Write functional and design specifications for the client technologies on Windows
- Design, develop and unit test the Windows client-side components

The successful candidate will have:
- From 2-4 years of experience in software design and development
- Strong object oriented concepts and programming skills in C/C++
- Expertise in Microsoft Windows technologies such as ATL, MFC, COM and Win32 application development and user interface design
- Deep knowledge of Windows APIs/libraries, STL, Socket Programming, Network Programming, multi-threading concepts
- Exposure to scripting languages [python, perl, UNIX shell scripts] is highly desirable
- Experience in developing applications in Mac OS is desirable

- Write functional and design specifications for the client technologies on Linux/MAC OS
- Design, develop and unit test the Linux/Mac OS client-side components

The successful candidate will have:
- From 2-4 years of experience in software design and development
- Strong object oriented concepts and programming skills in C/C++ and Java
- Deep knowledge of Socket Programming, Network Programming, multi-threading concepts
- Exposure to scripting languages [python, perl, UNIX shell scripts] is highly desirable
- Experience in developing Linux desktop applications (GTK, pyGTK) and daemons is desirable
- Experience in developing applications in Mac OS is desirable

Using your knowledge and expertise, you should be able to conceptualize, plan, develop, and write documentation sets, including complex technical material, with limited supervision. Should have fundamental knowledge of the business processes, systems, and philosophy associated with high-performance, high technology companies. Should have excellent writing skills and high proficiency in networking and software technology and also a thorough understanding of technical writing and project management. Should have the ability to create complex technical documents. Should have excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills. Should have successfully completed other technical documentation projects and be willing to provide samples of prior work.

Education / Work Experience:
- BA/BS or equivalent experience, and 2-4 years of related experience.
